The Simple Woman's Daybook - 4
For today...
Outside my Window...darkness. It is very late evening and I just prepared the notes for my route that I will drive to my brother's tomorrow. It will take us about 3 hours and hopefully we will set off very early.
I am thinking...that I am going to miss a specific person for at least 2 weeks. :-(
I am thankful for...my beautiful, funny, clever and also challenging little children!! They keep me going, and they make me laugh so much. :-) They give my life so much meaning!
From the kitchen...I started to decorate the walls. And I noticed that the wallpaper is coming off at some places...so that I will have to glue it back on. But I like the color: it's a very slight cream.
I am wearing...clothes for bed. I am off to sleep in a minute.
I am reading...I always read several books at a time, and I read them in turns. Right now I keep picking up a book about Mr Darcy called 'An assembly such as this' and it is actually quite nice. Anything to incourage deepening my skills in the English language. ;-)
I am hoping...for a miracle.
I am hearing...nothing at all. It is deadsilent in the house. Occasionally a car drives by. Funny enough I used to find it very spooky when the house was silent (in the old flat) - but in this house I always feel at ease.
Around the house...I started to tidy and change my own room a bit. I am planning on how to accomodate the clavinova that I would love to rent very soon. I am dieing to play the piano again!
One of my favorite things...are those rare moments when I sit down to be silent and just be in the moment to come back to myself, to center myself.
A Few Plans For The Rest Of The Week...focus on the important things!! Maybe some work in the garden, more structure to the day.
A picture I'd like to share with you...
Lisa was very interested in taking pictures a while ago, and this is one of them.
I don't know if it is guinnea-pig-pie..?!

Guinea pig pie? :) How funny! It's a lovely photo.
AntwortenLöschenPiggy-pot-pie! Yum, my favorite!
AntwortenLöschenIsla, you are so whistfull. Who has your head in the clouds?
Alas, if I understood it correctly, you are off for two weeks to your brother and I must wait for a reply.
Perhaps I will go eat some soup: I made a parsnip potato soup with garlic and lemon... YUM. I actually hope the children DO NOT LIKE IT because that means MORE FOR ME! (I am the piggy mentioned above, snort!)
Wistful, indeed. ;-)
AntwortenLöschenI only went away for a day, though. It was a lovely day and actually a nice drive.
(The two weeks have to do with the Autumn Holiday...)
The soup sounds yummy!! I remember those kind of soups from my time in England. (curried)Parsnip soup and the like...hmmm. Maybe I should put some recipes on this blog, too? :-)
