Keep Calm Craft On: Mittens and Cowls

Another friendly visitor. Although a little injured because it got caught by a cat. Ayla rescued the bat and brought it to the kitchen. We all had a closer look, then she released it in a safe spot in the garden.

The weather was a bit warmer again and that was the perfect invitation to sit in the garden and knit - during a break.

It seems that Kittie is expecting. So we can look forward to winter kittens this year.

Yet another "Outlander Cowl" - this time using thick Eskimo-DROPS-wool, knitted with two strands and needlesize 17. Not so easy to handle such thick needles, I have to say, but it turned out very nicely. A super cozy winter cowl! I put it in my shop. :-)

Right now I am working on fingerless mittens. I am using this free pattern and adapt it to my own ideas. Next time, I would like to try a cable pattern, though. Maybe this one: One Cable Mitts.

How is your autumn knitting coming along? Are you working on something?

    1. The sheep mug is great, isn't it? The weather here is changing a bit already - very misty and a bit chilly in the mornings.

  3. Lovely knitting and so nice to find a German mama that does German and English on their blog. A good way for me to keep up on my German. My son also enjoyed your bat.

    1. I enjoy writing both languages.
My kids loved the little bat and got really excited. After my daughter brought it back outside we had to watch a documentary about bats. ;-)

    1. Thank you. :-) That's a good idea to knit mittens as a gift. I might do that, too!

  5. Lovely cowl, looks great on! Your mitts look nice and cosy, and a cable pattern on the next would be lovely.

  7. Love love love the cowl! And I need to knit some new fingerless mitts for myself. They are so easy to knit up, and they are much needed in our very cold house during the winter :-)
